IBF Officers’ Roles

The offices of President and Vice President, Secretary and Treasurer shall be determined annually by an election conducted normally during the September Board of Directors meeting.

The Officers-elect are installed at November Board Meeting pending club proxy approval and serve until the following November meeting or until a successor is duly elected.

Candidates for office must have served a minimum of one (1) year on the Board of Directors; have actively participated in Federation projects; or have displayed sincere interest in the efforts of the Federation.

Upon election, officers assume certain duties and responsibilities. These include

President

  1. Preside over all meetings of the Board of Directors.

  2. Direct all official business of the Federation.

  3. Supervise and direct all Federation activities.

  4. Appoint and be an ex-officio member of all Standing and Special Committees and appoint with Board approval additional board members as needed.

  5. Act as the Federation's liaison with other organizations.

  6. Maintain liaison with the National B.A.S.S. Federation Chapter Department and attend the national Presidents Conference and Bass Master Classic.

  7. Delegate such duties as may be appropriate to better serve the Federation.

  8. Propose and submit an annual budget in November for board review each year.

Vice President

  1. Assist the President upon request.

  2. Preside in the absence of the President.

  3. Chair Committees as directed by the President.

  4. At the president's request, supervise and direct activities of the Federation.


Secretary

  1. Arrange for all board meetings and disseminate appropriate notices.

  2. Record accurate minutes of all meetings.
  3. Maintain regular correspondence with affiliated Chapters and National B.A.S.S. Federation.
  4. Maintain records to accurately document Chapter participation in required Federation activities.

Treasurer

  1. Maintain accurate financial records and report accordingly at each board meeting.

  2. Receive and distribute all monies upon approval of the board.

  3. Submit a quarterly financial report to the board and membership.

  4. Submit a yearly financial report at the Presidents Meeting.

Conservation Director

  1. To interact with Illinois DNR state agencies and Legislative branches pertaining to conservation and environmental concerns.

  2. To interact with sportsman groups and affiliated chapter clubs pertaining to conservation and environmental concerns.

  3. Maintain liaison with National B.A.S.S. Conservation Department and attend yearly national meeting.

  4. Assist chapters concerning conservation "MATCHING FUNDS" Program.

  5. Select a chapter for the Illinois Federation Conservation Project of the Year Award.

Regional Director

Youth Director

  1. Oversee the Federation's statewide Casting Kids Program.

  2. Organize and conduct the Federation's Casting Kids State Finals.

  3. Organize and conduct the Illinois B.A.S.S. Federation/Illinois Department of Natural Resources Youth Tournament.

  4. Assist chapter's concerning youth "Matching funds" projects.

Tournament Direcor

  1. Organize and conduct the Illinois B.A.S.S. Federation Open Trail Tournament circuit.

  2. Responsible for maintaining accurate tournament standings, budget and finance records for the Open Trail Tournament circuit

Publicity/Special Awards Director

  1. Write articles concerning Federation activities, such as tournaments, meetings and special events. Submit these articles to outside media sources and the Federation website.

  2. Interact and act as liaison to outside media sources.

  3. Oversee the Illinois B.A.S.S. Federation State Chapter Awards program and the National B.A.S.S. Federation State Chapter Awards Program

Internet Director

  1. Maintain the Federation website.

  2. Assist chapters wishing to establish a web presence.

Sponsorship Director

  1. Solicit sponsors for Federation programs including all tournaments, meetings and special events.

  2. Assure that all sponsors are recognized for their support of the Federation through the media, Federation website and sponsor correspondence.

  3. Maintain accurate records of all sponsors and their support programs.

  4. Select a candidate for the Illinois B.A.S.S. Federation Sponsor of the Year Award.

Raffle Boat/Charity Director

  1. Administrate the "Shriners Hospitals for Children"/Federation Raffle Boat Program. Act as a liaison between the Federation and our chosen charities.

  2. Assist and advise chapters regarding Raffle Boat sales events.

  3. Maintain accurate records of chapter raffle ticket distribution and sales.

  4. Conduct a yearly drawing to determine a winner of the raffle boat.

Immediate Past President

  1. Upon the election of a new president, the retiring president may assume the position of immediate past president and serve as an advisor to the new president. This is a honorary and non-voting board position.
