Junior Anglers Take Center Stage!! February 5, 2008 On April 20, 2008 the Illinois Bass Federation will be holding its State Junior Angler Championship on Lake of Egypt in Southern Illinois. At this special event junior anglers from all over the state will compete in two age groups for the Illinois Bass Federation State Championship and the ultimate prize of qualifying for the National Guard Junior World Championship! The event will begin on Saturday eve with a meeting to discuss rules, safety, and pair each angler from each age group with a boat captain from the Illinois Bass Federation's anglers. The following day, Sunday, the two anglers and boat captain will meet at 5:00a.m. at the Pyramid Acres-Marina and Campground to launch their boat and prepare for the take-off at 7:00 a.m. At 2:30 p.;m. all the anglers will report for weigh-in at the ramp. Come out and watch the stars of tomorrow compete for the state bragging rights and a chance to advance to the National Guard Junior Anglers Championship where they will compete for over $30,000 in schorlarships and Youth Program Grants.
